Red velvet is about as American as you can get. Red velvet cake is a mildly chocolate flavored buttermilk cake with a touch of red dye. With us being from the south and being self-proclaimed brownie connoiseurs, we knew we had to make a red velvet brownie that stayed as close to the cake's roots as possible. We accomplished that, but we will let you be the judge! These brownies are fudgy and a little crumbly (thanks to the buttermilk)! Added bonus is that these won't turn your fingers red when you are eating them, unlike it's cousin of the cake variety. Just promise us that you will grab a cold glass of milk to dunk them in or put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Ingredients: Butter, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Organic Brown Sugar, Organic White Whole Wheat Flour, Organic Brown Eggs, Natural Cocoa Powder, Buttermilk, Vanilla Extract, Red Dye, Sea Salt and an immeasurable amount of love.
